CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: "I See You"
“I See You” exhibition will run from January 13th, 2017 – February 4th, 2017
El Comalito Collective invites QTPOC (Queer, Trans, People of Color) artists in all media to participate in an exhibition that highlights the diverse narratives of Queer, Trans, and non-binary folx.
In a world where we as QTPOC are bombarded with images of hate, trauma, and violence against our communities, visibility couldn't be more important. “I See You” is about creating visibility in our communities through visual representations of love, compassion and vibrancy as well as the traumas and experiences that often make us believe that we are alone. Through these images QTPOC people will be able to come into a space and see themselves reflected in the work, narratives, and experiences that can act as a catalyst for healing. “I See You” is an intentional space for QTPOC healing, affirmation and acknowledgment that we exist and that when I see you, I see me.
Selection committee is composed of artists, activists, and community members.
DEADLINE Extended: November 7th, 2016. We will notify those whose work has been selected via email no later than November 16th, 2016.
How to Submit:
Email [email protected] the following, using “I See You" in the subject line:
* El Comalito Collective collects a 30% commission for all sales during the exhibit and will email selected artists an Artist agreement with all of the terms for the work. Submitted works do not have to be available for sale.
